A couple of hikers was rescued by helicopter after an incident near the Rocca di Bardolino. The operation, carried out by Verona Emergenza personnel, was requested around 11:40 AM today, Friday, January 3rd. The two hikers, both in their fifties from Mantua, slipped from a height of about seven meters while traversing a trail; fortunately, their fall was cushioned by a wooded area below, preventing serious injuries.
After being located, rescuers used a winch to lower themselves and reach the hikers in distress. Although they did not suffer serious injuries, both were transported to the Borgo Trento Hospital in Verona for medical evaluations due to suspected ankle trauma.
