A 48-year-old windsurfer of Italian nationality was rescued this afternoon, November 20, off the coast of Tignale by the Coast Guard patrol boat. The alert was raised around 3:30 PM when the windsurfer’s partner reported his absence in the waves, worried after the man had broken the mast of his board due to adverse weather conditions. In response to the call, the Coast Guard unit from Salò also activated the State Police from Riva del Garda, an ambulance from the Garda Volunteers, and the air rescue service.
The windsurfer was located about 400 meters from the shore and safely recovered by the Coast Guard patrol boat GCA58 in the waters off Prà de la Fam. Fortunately, he was disembarked in good health, avoiding more serious consequences thanks to the prompt intervention of the rescue teams.
