The restoration work on the SP9, which connects Gargnano to Valvestino, began following the severe damage caused by four landslides on September 9. The weather event rendered the road impassable at several points, with significant collapses at km 12+200 and km 13+000. Local administrations and the Roads Sector of the Province of Brescia are collaborating to ensure a swift reopening of the roadway, planning for alternating traffic during the intervention phases.
The works will include important measures for soil stabilization and road safety, such as the installation of metal structures and debris-flow barriers. The official start of the works is scheduled for next week, but a date for the partial reopening of the road has not yet been announced. The aim is to minimize disruptions for residents of the surrounding communities.
