Bardolino Local Police: The Seized Porsche Macan Has Been Returned Due to Lack of Use.
The vehicle, a model S, was placed under judicial custody by the Local Police in September 2023 after being seized by the Financial Police as part of an anti-fraud operation. However, its actual usage proved to be minimal, as it remained mostly parked in the municipal garage. Consequently, the new commander, Francesco De Santis, formally requested the return of the vehicle to the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Financial Police in Reggio Emilia.
According to statements from the commander and Mayor Daniele Bertasi, the car was intended to serve as a “decoy” for undercover operations, but its visibility was not suitable for such use. Furthermore, maintaining the vehicle incurred additional costs for the municipality, making it prudent to initiate the process for its return to the new judicial custodian. The decision was made with the aim of optimizing resources and reducing municipal expenses related to the vehicle’s lack of use.
