An administrative earthquake has struck the Riva del Garda council, following Mayor Cristina Santi’s announcement regarding the relinquishment of her delegations. This decision comes in the wake of a major judicial investigation affecting the Trentino Alto Adige region, which has had direct repercussions on the local administration. The mayor, despite having had her house arrest revoked, stated that her decision is motivated by a desire for responsibility and transparency towards the citizens, aiming to ensure a peaceful working environment for the municipal offices until the judiciary clarifies its position.
In an already delicate context, the resignation of the Urban Planning Councillor Mauro Malfer adds to the turmoil, as he is involved in the investigation concerning urban planning transactions related to the former Cattoi area. Concurrently, Fratelli d’Italia has officially announced its exit from the majority, with Councillor Nicola Santoni also resigning from the presidency of the urban planning commission. The new delegations will be defined shortly by the remaining councillors in office.
