Riva del Garda has officially received the recognition of “City of Wine” during a ceremony held at the town hall on the morning of Friday, November 29. This event marked the city’s membership in the national association, which has been promoting municipalities with a wine vocation since 1987, provided they hold at least one PDO or PGI designation. The network is committed to enhancing the wine heritage, supporting sustainable development, and protecting the local landscape, actively collaborating with institutions to promote regulations in support of wine tourism.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor Cristina Santi and Economic Activities Councillor Lorenzo Pozzer, along with a delegation from the association led by national president Angelo Radica. Radica emphasized the importance of Riva del Garda in wine production and the growth of the network, which now includes 510 associated municipalities. Mayor Santi highlighted the efforts made to achieve this milestone, expressing the intention to work with local operators to promote the region’s typical products and thereby support territorial excellence.
