The Municipality of Riva del Garda has recently lifted the bathing ban at the Pini Beach, a decision made on Friday, June 14th. This measure follows the ordinance issued by Mayor Cristina Santi on June 12th, which had temporarily prohibited swimming due to hygiene and health concerns.
The restrictive measure was implemented after the Public Health and Hygiene Unit of the Apss (Local Health Authority) reported that the microbiological parameters in the water of Lake Garda, specifically at the sampling point located near Pini Beach, exceeded the permitted limits. This situation raised immediate concerns for public health, leading to the immediate closure of the bathing area.
Fortunately, subsequent analysis showed an improvement in water conditions. New samples taken indicated that the microbiological parameters are now within the limits established by the law, allowing the Municipality to revoke the previously imposed ban.
