A serious traffic accident occurred in Bedizzole, where a 61-year-old driver was arrested after hitting and killing a 29-year-old man, Gaston Nicolas Pascale Urgoiti. The incident took place last week on the stretch between Via Brescia and Via Valtenesi, while the victim was standing by the roadside. Following the accident, the driver did not render assistance and returned home. Law enforcement later intercepted him, finding that he had a blood alcohol level three times over the legal limit, a result of a night spent at a nearby bar.
The man’s arrest followed the issuance of a precautionary custody order by the investigating judge at the request of the public prosecutor. The young man who was struck had been immediately assisted by some passersby, but unfortunately, his injuries were too severe, and he passed away the following day at the Civile Hospital of Brescia, where he was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit.
