A road accident occurred in the late afternoon of Sunday, February 9, around 7:30 PM, along State Road 240 in Val di Ledro, near the Mezzolago beach. A car carrying a 24-year-old woman and a young man lost control, crashing into a wall and the guardrail, before careening from one side of the roadway to the other. Despite the significant damage to the vehicle, fortunately, there were no rollovers that could have worsened the situation for the occupants.
Immediately after the alert, the firefighters from Pieve di Ledro, along with medical personnel and the Carabinieri from Riva del Garda, responded to the scene. Although the rescue teams from Mori and Riva del Garda were initially activated, their assistance was not required as the two young individuals were extricated without the use of hydraulic tools. An air ambulance from Trento was requested to transport the injured to the hospital under code red; however, their conditions do not appear to be a cause for concern. The causes of the accident are currently under investigation by the relevant authorities and may be linked to the rain that made the asphalt slippery.
