A tragic road accident occurred in Bedizzole, where a 29-year-old Uruguayan man, who was struck on Saturday evening, passed away yesterday at the Civil Hospital of Brescia. Despite the doctors’ efforts, his injuries were too severe. The incident took place while the victim was walking along the roadside between via Brescia and via Valtenesi when he was hit by a car driven by a 61-year-old Italian, who did not stop to provide assistance.
After being identified by the carabinieri in Desenzano, the driver was subjected to an alcohol test, which came back positive. This led to the charge of aggravated vehicular homicide, highlighting the driver’s possible impaired state at the time of the accident. The case will now proceed to court, where the driver’s responsibilities will be assessed.
