Calcinato is at the center of the debate regarding construction sites and road safety, particularly concerning Via Cavour, which will be closed to traffic starting Tuesday, January 7. The Calcinato Citizens’ Committee has requested a public meeting with the administration to discuss the implications of the closure, expected to last until the end of the month, necessary to allow for work related to the Tav Brescia Est-Verona line. In a statement, the Committee expressed concern about the difficulties citizens will face in finding alternative routes and raised questions regarding the safety measures to be implemented near the construction sites.
Furthermore, the Committee highlighted the uncertainty surrounding the types of interventions planned in the area, including the paving of Via Cavour and the construction of a new roundabout. The statement also emphasizes the risk of future expropriations related to the expansion of the highway, despite previous political assurances to the contrary. With these concerns on the table, the Committee is seeking greater clarity from the municipal administration on how the situation will evolve during the construction works and on the safety guarantees for residents.
