Riva del Garda is preparing to host an event dedicated to solidarity, titled **Move it for a Reason**, which will take place on August 20 at the Rocca Park. This event combines a non-competitive five-kilometer run with a concert by the Irish band **Willin’ Fools**, aiming to raise funds to support abandoned children with disabilities in group homes managed by the non-profit organization **Noi per Loro**.
Event Details
Since 2017, the organizers have decided to merge the tradition of the concert in Riva del Garda with a walk-run open to everyone. The first edition was a significant success, evolving into an eagerly awaited annual event. The route winds along the shores of the lake, starting and finishing in the city center, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere. During the event, participants are encouraged to wear t-shirts of a specific color that changes each year, helping to foster a spirit of unity among attendees.
Fundraising and Beneficiaries
The proceeds from the initiative come from the sale of t-shirts priced at 15 euros, local sponsorships, and the support of the Municipality. These funds are used to support various projects aimed at the children housed in the care facilities supported by the association. “The joy and cheerfulness brought by the Willin’ Fools transform into running, walking, dancing… ‘moving for a reason’, meaning we become a family with them,” the organizers explain on their official website.
Evening Schedule
Participant registration will begin at 7:30 PM, followed by a live concert by the Irish band at 9:00 PM. The run will kick off at 8:30 PM. Admission to the concert is free, allowing everyone to join the event even without participating in the run.
This event thus represents not only an opportunity for fun and socializing but also an important occasion to contribute to a significant cause in the Lake Garda area.
