On Sunday, May 26th, Sirmione will be the stage for a sports event focused on solidarity. The second edition of “Run with Merilù beyond multiple sclerosis” will take place during the Sports Festival, organized by US Rovizza in collaboration with the Municipality of Sirmione. This initiative offers participants the opportunity to choose between a non-competitive run or a walk, on routes of 7 or 13 kilometers.
The event takes inspiration from Merilù, who says, “When I run, I don’t feel sick. I run despite my illness and bring it to the finish line because the desire to live doesn’t allow excuses.” Her words resonate as an invitation to overcome difficulties through sports and community.
The day will start at 8:00 am with the gathering at the Municipal Sports Center in Via Leonardo Da Vinci. The start is scheduled for 9:30 am, while the return is planned around 12:00 pm, always at the same sports center. At the end of the run or walk, participants can enjoy refreshments and receive their race kit.
The proceeds from the event will be used to support social projects aimed at raising awareness about multiple sclerosis, a disease that affects many people and for which increasing awareness and support is essential.
For those who wish to participate, it is possible to register online on the US Rovizza website or directly on Sunday morning until 8:45 am at the Municipal Sports Center. For further information, Maurizio can be contacted at 348-3116073 or Erika at 320-0180090.
This event represents not only an opportunity for physical activity but also an important moment of gathering and solidarity in the beautiful setting of Lake Garda.
