In 2024, the Coast Guard reported a positive assessment of its activities, highlighting an increase in navigational safety on Lake Garda. During the assembly held in Mantova, Commander Antonello Ragadale outlined the operations carried out, which included 837 naval missions and 153 rescue operations, ultimately saving a total of 224 people in danger. Thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding on the safety of navigators, the involved forces were able to operate with greater efficiency and coordination, ensuring essential logistical support.
The number of inspections conducted has increased, with over 7,400 checks related to navigational safety and environmental protection, resulting in a 30% decrease in penalties compared to the previous year. The Coast Guard’s commitment has also extended to raising awareness among users through informative campaigns in schools and along the lakeside. With the activation of a dedicated WhatsApp channel for nautical safety, citizens can receive timely updates on weather conditions and other useful information for navigation on the lake.
