It’s a crowd in the historic center of Salò despite the uncertain weather, for the floricultural event “Salò Botanica”. Thousands of people have been gathering since April 27th without interruption between the Fossa and the Zanardelli lakeside promenade, where about sixty exhibitors (including the best floriculturists in the Province) have set up shop, coming from ten Italian regions.
In addition to plants and flowers of every variety and green-themed setups, there is also space for garden furniture and maintenance, as well as local Garda essences and varieties, organic and natural products, and eco-friendly artisanal creations. The spring event (a fall edition is planned between the end of September and the beginning of October) will end on Wednesday, May 1st (open every day from 10 am to 10 pm, free admission). Contributing to the creation of a gigantic photographic playground are the 51 “animal sculptures” made of synthetic grass, placed not only in the Fossa but throughout the historic center, starting from Piazza Serenissima and extending to the end of the lakeside promenade, near the parking lot of Piazza Baden Powel.
