The association Salò Promotion has recently reappointed Andrea Maggioni as president, emphasizing the importance of trade and tourism in the city. During the assembly, Maggioni outlined the progress made through collaboration with local entities and consortia, highlighting that in 2023, Salò recorded 234,709 tourist arrivals, although this represents a decline compared to the previous year. The growth in hotel accommodations has been significant, with the number of available facilities now totaling 361, while the commercial sector remains central to the local economy, employing 46% of the workforce.
In the face of economic challenges for retail, Salò Promotion has called for a dialogue with the municipal administration to support local businesses. Among the requests are the establishment of an Urban Trade District and free parking during the winter months. With a contraction in commercial establishments from 2021 to 2023, Maggioni reiterated that the priority must remain on supporting trade, which is essential for maintaining the social and economic fabric of the city and attracting tourists in the long term.
