The construction of the Community House, an important social and health hub in Salò, has officially begun in the Cunettone district. This project, which occupies a plot of 8,245 square meters along the SP 572, represents one of the few Community Houses built from scratch in Lombardy and aims to enhance the health and social services provided by Asst Garda. With a planned investment of 12.5 million euros funded by the Pnrr, the facility is expected to be completed by April 2026, according to the program agreement signed in 2021.
The initiative faced initial challenges due to negative feedback from the Superintendency regarding the first design proposals. Following these issues, a new project was commissioned from architect Stefano Boeri, which led to a revision of the original design, transforming the circular layout into a horseshoe shape to reduce environmental impact. The structure will have three above-ground floors with a total usable area of 3,150 square meters and will offer various services, including social and health assistance, non-urgent medical care, blood sampling points, and vaccination activities.
