On September 29, the much-anticipated event Salò Golosa returns, celebrating the culinary excellence of the Gulf of Salò through a unique gastronomic journey. This event not only highlights the beauty and culture of the area but also offers the chance to discover the authentic flavors of the region.
A Region Rich in Traditions
The Lake Garda region, particularly Salò, is renowned for its extraordinary blend of art, nature, and a rich culinary tradition. The variety of landscapes and locations makes Salò an ideal destination for all types of visitors. However, for those seeking an unforgettable culinary experience, the journey may seem more complex. Gardesana cuisine, especially that of Salò, stands out for its simplicity and authentic taste. Ingredients such as olive oil, local meats, lake fish, fresh cheeses, and fine wines form the foundation of the local gastronomy.
The Event: A Journey Between Land and Water
In collaboration with the Merchants Association – Salò Promotion and the Valtenesi Consortium, an event has been organized that celebrates food and wine through two distinct thematic paths: one dedicated to “land” and the other to “water.” This original approach allows participants to explore the typical flavors of Salò’s tradition.
Andrea Maggioni, President of the Merchants and Vice President of VisitBrescia, stated: “Get ready to discover products and flavors you have never tasted before.” The paths are designed to satisfy even the most discerning palates. Among the specialties to be sampled will be dishes such as casoncelli skewers, “escaped” little birds, and creations like rabbit with guacamole.
Tastings at Local Restaurants
On Sunday, September 29, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 22 restaurants and pastry shops will participate in the initiative by offering tastings of their typical products. Using the “Taste Passport,” visitors will embark on a gastronomic journey, choosing between the two proposed themes.
Paolo Pasini, President of the Valtenesi Consortium, emphasized that “Salò is the northern gateway to Valtènesi,” where local wines perfectly complement Salò’s gastronomy due to their unique territorial identity.
Expectations for the 2023 Edition
The previous edition was a great success, with hundreds of passports sold; this year, there are all the prerequisites to exceed those results. With new sponsorships from the Garda Lombardia Consortium and other regional institutions, the event is gaining increasing significance at the regional level.
To facilitate participation, it is now possible to purchase tickets online. The event will have a limited capacity of 600 participants who will enliven the central streets of the city.
For more information about the event, inquiries can be made at various venues including “Day After,” “Bar Italia,” and “Antica Cascina San Zago.” The “Taste Passport” is already available on EventBride for 50 Euros per person, allowing participants to fully experience this culinary journey between land and water.
