The literary review titled “Waiting for the Cai” will kick off on December 19 at the Library of Salò, focusing on mountain stories. The event will begin with Giampaolo Matrone, who will present his book “The Last Survivor of Rigopiano – 62 Hours Under the Snow,” moderated by Roberta Ghirardi. Matrone, the last survivor rescued from the rubble of the Rigopiano hotel, will provide a profound and moving account of his experience. This review is organized in anticipation of themed mountain evenings that will take place in February and March, promoted by the Cai section of Salò in collaboration with the Library.
The series of meetings will continue on January 16 with Valeria Tron, who will present “Pietra dolce,” a work that explores deep connections to the land through captivating stories set in the mountains. Finally, Franco Faggiani will conclude the series with “Just a Thread of Wind,” a novel dedicated to the community’s attachment to its land. All events will begin at 8:30 PM, and admission will be free until seats are filled.
