The exciting summer program in Salò was recently presented during a press conference attended by Mayor Giampiero Cipani, Andrea Maggioni, president of Salò Promotion, and the artistic director of the summer music festival Gasparo da Salò, Roberto Codazzi. This year, the town stands out for the richness and variety of its events, ranging from culture to sports, from music to gastronomy.
Among the noteworthy events, the calendar begins on April 13 with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Piazza Loggia massacre, a moment of historical and cultural reflection. The focus on culture continues with book presentations, exhibitions, and literary readings, such as the “Reading is a Taste” event on April 11 and the theatrical performance “Ulysses” for families, scheduled for April 14.
The heart of the Salò summer is represented by the Gasparo da Salò Music Festival, with its 65th edition of the international violin festival featuring world-renowned artists. Music enthusiasts can enjoy concerts ranging from Vivaldi to Gershwin, in picturesque settings like Piazza Duomo. There are also performances by the Salò City Band and the music festival “Great Salò Musicians.”
Sports enthusiasts will find numerous events, including running races like the Salò Run for Telethon and the Salò City Sprint Triathlon. The program also includes the traditional passage of the 1000 Miglia car race and the “Fondo del Golfo” swimming competition.
Salò also celebrates its culinary tradition with the “Salò Golosa” event and the Salò Buskers Festival, a festival dedicated to street artists that animates the streets of the historic center.
In addition to the events, the city offers guided tours to discover the beauty and history of Salò, and the Mu.Sa Museum presents internationally acclaimed exhibitions, such as “Francis Bacon Capture Room.”
Salò is preparing for a rich and varied summer, offering events for every taste and interest. A calendar that promises to provide visitors with unforgettable experiences in one of the most fascinating places on Lake Garda.
