A new case of scam in Salò has recently been reported in the Tormini area, where several drivers fell victim to a deception near the bypass. A man, stationed outside the tunnel, attracted the attention of passersby by claiming he had run out of gas and asking for money to refuel. This modus operandi is not new and occurs with some frequency: after receiving the money, the scammer would provide a phone number, promising to return the amount received, but when called, no one would answer.
Local authorities have already recorded similar incidents in the past and warn of the need to pay attention to road safety. Motorists who find themselves in similar situations are advised to contact law enforcement instead of stopping to assist those who may harbor fraudulent intentions. This warning aims to prevent further scams and ensure the safety of individuals in transit.
