The Santuary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, located in San Felice del Benaco, has launched an initiative called “Adopt a Tree” to promote environmental conservation and care for the land. This project involves planting trees on a plot of uncultivated land, aiming to support not only the climate but also local biodiversity by creating beehives and sowing lavender plants. The initiative is particularly significant in a time marked by extreme weather events and seeks to produce fruits that will be donated to those in need in the Valtenesi area.
Anyone wishing to participate can adopt a tree, a lavender plant, or a beehive, thereby contributing to the creation of a green space that is open to the public and protected for bees. Participation can be done by visiting the Pilgrim’s Hall next to the Sanctuary or through a bank transfer to the Monte Carmelo Association. The friars of the Sanctuary and volunteers will take care of the maintenance of the green spaces, emphasizing the importance of concrete actions for the common good and respect for nature.
