The educational project “Relentless Beauty,” promoted by the Vittoriale degli Italiani Foundation for the 2023-2024 school year, aims to explore the concept of beauty through the figure and work of Gabriele d’Annunzio, one of Italy’s most influential and controversial intellectuals. The project aims to involve educational institutions of all levels in an educational and creative journey that celebrates beauty in all its forms.
The project focuses on two main educational objectives: the first is to conduct a comparative analysis between the celebration of beauty in d’Annunzio’s time and contemporary times, offering students a historical perspective enriched by critical analysis. The second objective is to promote the creation of a product, whether it be in paper or multimedia format, that reflects the creativity of the students inspired by the themes of beauty, Italian culture, and art. Through this creative work, students will develop important skills such as collaboration, project management, and the ability to conduct in-depth research.
Beauty, as conceived by d’Annunzio, manifests itself in various forms: the Italian landscape, the richness of its nature, artistic expressions ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary times, music, creativity, and the refinement of daily life. The project encourages students to explore these different dimensions, facilitating a continuous dialogue between the glorious past and the contemporary dynamics of the country.
All students in Italian schools, regardless of their level of education, are invited to participate. This broad involvement aims to instill a deep appreciation for the national cultural and artistic heritage from a young age.
Interested schools must send their participation to the Vittoriale degli Italiani Foundation by November 30, 2023. Each participating class must then submit their project, which can be in MP4, PPT, PDF, or paper format, by April 12, 2024.
The final projects will be presented in the Auditorium of the Vittoriale in May 2024. This presentation session will offer students the opportunity to showcase their work in front of a panel of experts and enthusiasts, receiving constructive feedback and recognition for their commitment and creativity.
To support students and teachers in their research and creativity, the Vittoriale’s Archives-Library Office will provide bibliographic materials and educational resources suitable for guiding and enriching the projects.
As an incentive, students from participating classes will be offered the opportunity to visit the Vittoriale park and its connected museums free of charge. Additionally, it will be possible to request a participation certificate that values the students’ commitment and learning throughout the project.
For further information or to submit participation, school representatives can directly contact the Vittoriale degli Italiani Foundation using the contact information provided in the project presentation document.
Through “Relentless Beauty,” the Vittoriale degli Italiani Foundation not only celebrates the deep connection between Gabriele d’Annunzio and Italian beauty but also stimulates the new generations to rediscover and value the cultural and artistic heritage of their country.
