On the afternoon of Monday, January 27, the Camillo Tarello Institute in Lonato was evacuated due to health issues among the students, who reported eye irritation and throat discomfort. The alert was triggered around 2:30 PM when several students and teachers reported symptoms, leading to the activation of emergency procedures to ensure the safety of everyone in the building.
Investigations conducted by the firefighters and carabinieri initially suggested the use of a pepper spray, but it was later determined that the discomfort was likely caused by a mixture of chlorine and ammonia used for cleaning. Fortunately, no severe cases were reported; neither students nor teachers required hospital treatment after assessments by the medical personnel present at the scene.
