In recent days, Agnosine has been the scene of a significant joint operation involving the Forest Carabinieri from Vobarno and Idro, along with personnel from ARPA Lombardia, which led to the seizure of an illegal foundry. During a routine inspection, the agents noticed the suspicious presence of numerous big bags in the outdoor area of the warehouse. Subsequent investigations revealed that the company was processing aluminum components without the necessary permits, including those for atmospheric emissions.
The outcome of the operation is noteworthy: approximately 14 tons of special waste, 800 liters of potentially hazardous liquid waste, and five non-operational vehicles were seized. The inspections also highlighted serious deficiencies in waste management, with chemicals leaking from damaged containers and dispersing into the surrounding environment. Additionally, around 200 rounds of ammunition and four firearms found on the premises were seized from one of the managing partners, with both partners being investigated by the Judicial Authority while at liberty.
