A serious road accident occurred this morning, May 27, around 7:10 am in Peschiera del Garda, in the Rovizza area, on the border with Sirmione. Two trucks collided head-on on Regional Road 11, causing the death of the two truck drivers involved. A car was also involved in the accident, and two other people sustained minor injuries. Immediately after the crash, one of the trucks caught fire.
The firefighters from Bardolino and Verona, with three vehicles and ten personnel, intervened at the scene of the accident, along with the emergency medical service (Suem 118) who used the Verona emergency helicopter and an ambulance for rescue operations. The highway police temporarily closed Regional Road 11 to allow for rescue operations and the securing of the area. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
