A serious road accident occurred today, June 16, 2024, in Salò, along the Gardesana road. Shortly after 5:00 PM, a motorcycle carrying a 47-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman collided with a car on via dei Colli. Both motorcyclists were urgently transported to the Civil Hospital in Brescia; one of them was admitted in critical condition but is not in life-threatening danger. The helicopter rescue team intervened at the scene of the accident to facilitate the transfer of the injured.
The accident had a heavy impact on the traffic in the area, which was already congested due to the return of holidaymakers from Lake Garda. The rescue operations, involving local ambulances and the Traffic Police, further slowed down the circulation, causing kilometer-long tailbacks up to the middle of the lake towards Tormini.
