Desenzano: New Lake Discharge Reported During Marathon An incident involving the discharge of sewage was reported yesterday, Tuesday, February 25, at the lake outlet during the Desenzano marathon. Volunteers from WWF Bergamo-Brescia noted the presence of an unspecified oily substance in the water that was dispersing. The Coast Guard was alerted, and technicians from Acque Bresciane intervened to collect water samples at the mouth of the Pescala stream, accompanied by local police and firefighters.
Initial investigations revealed an anomaly in the collector’s outflow, but it is uncertain whether this is the cause of the lake pollution, which could also stem from another type of direct contamination. Investigations will continue to clarify the circumstances of the incident, as concern grows within the community over the recurrence of similar events in recent years.
