Simone Lazzarini, a homeless man in Desenzano, shares his difficult situation after transitioning from managing a perfume shop to living on the streets. At 51 years old, he resides in the parking lot across from the Eurospin on Via Marconi, where he finds shelter under a canopy. For the past year and a half, Simone has faced cold nights, covering himself with blankets and receiving assistance from passersby and law enforcement. Recently robbed of 65 euros and his smartphone, he expresses the challenge of job hunting without a mobile phone. His hope is to find employment that can help him get back on track.
Simone’s life underwent a drastic change in 2013 when he purchased the business branch of the historic Parolari perfumery. After two years of management, he lost the shop due to unfavorable contractual clauses and subsequently experienced various periods in shelters before officially becoming homeless in July 2023. Despite the adversities, he continues to hope for an opportunity to rebuild his life and has recently met with the mayor, who promised to make efforts to find him suitable accommodation.
