On Saturday, February 8, the photographic exhibition *Between Memories and Treasures: The Objects of the Heart* was inaugurated at the Social Resource Center of the Municipality of Sirmione, curated by photographers Antonello Perin and Cristina Treccani.
The initiative is organized by Pro Loco Sirmione as part of a calendar of events created in collaboration with the Municipality of Sirmione. The main objective is to enliven the Social Resource Center by providing opportunities for socialization and cognitive prevention activities for the elderly.
**The Inauguration and the Value of the Project**
The opening ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Sirmione, Luisa Lavelli, the Social Services Councillor Elena Boschi along with her staff, the Vice President of Pro Loco Francesco Auriola, photographers Antonello Perin and Cristina Treccani, and Don Francesco, the parish priest of Colombare.
This year’s theme, *A Dive into Memory and Remembrance*, involved the elderly at the Social Resource Center in selecting an object representative of a typical profession from their past or that of their parents. This project not only stimulates memory and combats senile dementia but also provides the community with a valuable visual testimony of Sirmione from seventy years ago. The exhibited photographs represent authentic fragments of history, passed down as a gift to new generations.
**Information About the Exhibition**
The exhibition will be open for viewing throughout 2025 at the Social Resource Center, with visiting hours from Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
