The Sirmione Photo Residency 2025 has officially launched the selection process for a new resident photographer, marking the beginning of the sixteenth edition of the Sirmione Photography Award. This initiative aims to discover and highlight the hidden aspects of the location through original imagery, and candidates can submit their applications on the portal sirmionefotografia.it. The selected artist will have the opportunity to spend two weeks in Sirmione, during which they will develop a photographic project dedicated to the area, creating works inspired by its beauty.
This initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Sirmione in collaboration with Magnum Photos and seeks to authentically represent the territory and its community. Mayor Luisa Lavelli emphasized the importance of capturing the local essence, while Tourism Councillor Riccardo Genovesi highlighted how this artistic residency could serve as a catalyst for tourism promotion. The selection will be entrusted to two international photography experts, Andréa Holzherr and Ludovica Pellegatta, who will guide the photographer in their creative journey. Applications must be submitted by Monday, March 31, 2025, as indicated in the announcement available on the official website of the Municipality.
