Over the weekend, the award ceremony for the Sirmione Photography Prize 2024 took place, an event that recognized the best photographers in the context of the Lake Garda Photo Challenge and the Sirmione Photo Marathon. This prestigious competition, now in its fifteenth edition, has further solidified Sirmione as a key destination for photography on Lake Garda, with a rich program of events, exhibitions, and future initiatives already announced by the municipality. Among the new features planned for 2025 are workshops with Magnum Photos and the Marathon KIDS.
The winners of the contest received awards in various categories, with Giovanni Azzi taking first place in the theme “Sirmione,” while Alessandro Accordini triumphed in the “Lake Garda” category. The Special Award for Historical and Archaeological Heritage went to Licia De Marco, while Matthias Kunz won the Special Award Ennio Poli. The event continues to serve as an important platform for emerging talents, as evidenced by the special mentions awarded to young photographers under 18.
