After a long process of work, the new Territorial Government Plan of Sirmione has been completed. This plan, resulting from the collaboration between administrators, municipal offices, and external professionals, is based on the analysis of local needs and defines objectives in line with the real characteristics of the community.
Among the main objectives of the plan are the reduction of land consumption, the improvement of access to the territory of Sirmione, the increase of sustainable mobility, and urban regeneration. The ultimate goal is the recovery of the built environment and the improvement of urban quality, with particular attention to the enhancement of the Historic Center and integration with overarching urban planning tools.
The plan also aims to achieve a balance between the natural environment, the quality of life of residents, the needs of economic activities, and the preservation of the historical, artistic, and cultural heritage.
The document has undergone strategic environmental assessment by the competent authorities and has been approved. The received contributions have been analyzed and included in the plan when deemed acceptable.
The documents will be deposited at the Municipality and will be available to the community.
Mayor Luisa Lavelli stated that, despite the current political situation, she felt the duty to complete this important document. However, she believes that it is up to the future administration to decide whether to accept it as it is or make any modifications.
Lavelli hopes that the next administration will maintain the guidelines and vision that have inspired this plan, namely the protection and safeguarding of the territory of Sirmione, attention to housing policy and social housing, enhancement of existing productive and receptive commercial activities, strengthening of agriculture and viticulture, analysis of mobility, and development of services for the organization of social life.
