With the drop in temperatures, the snow plan of the Province of Brescia has been activated, covering approximately 2,000 kilometers of roads and involving a total of 150 operational vehicles. The protocol, designed by the Roads and Transport Department, aims to ensure road safety during the winter months by dividing the provincial territory into 22 zones monitored by supervisors and road workers ready to intervene 24 hours a day. In case of need, specialized teams will spread anti-icing products in the most critical areas.
To tackle potential snowfall, 9,600 tons of salt have already been prepared, with a total expenditure of 900,000 euros to ensure the clearance of roadways and prevent dangerous situations such as ice formation. Furthermore, the plan includes measures to monitor avalanche risk through the work of the Avalanche Technical Operational Unit (N.T.O.V.), which is active in assessing at-risk areas and supporting local authorities in emergency management. The entire plan will remain in effect until May 31 of next year.
