In Bardolino, the **“Social Emergency Response” (PIS)** has been launched, a service dedicated to managing social emergencies and urgent situations. This new service, part of the West Verona district 4, offers a year-round hotline that is accessible only to law enforcement and social-health services. An operational center staffed by five specialized social workers will ensure 24/7 interventions for emergency situations involving violence, child abandonment, lack of self-sufficiency, and extreme poverty.
When a critical situation arises, the competent authorities can contact the PIS operational center to initiate a professional assessment. The immediate assistance provided includes socio-emotional support and the activation of local networks to address the emergency. The process concludes with the referral of the individual to the appropriate social service or other necessary services for their well-being.
