The Social Emergency Intervention (PIS) service has been launched in Bardolino, a vital resource for addressing social emergencies and urgent situations. This municipality, part of the Western Verona District 4, joins the other 36 municipalities that already benefit from this important support.
A Service Always Active
The PIS is available year-round, providing a rapid response to the needs of citizens in distress. Although the contact number is not publicly accessible, it is managed by law enforcement and social-health services. The operational center consists of five specialized social workers, ready to intervene 24/7.
How the Social Emergency Intervention Works
In cases of personal or family social emergencies—such as violence, abuse, child abandonment, or extreme poverty—the relevant authorities can activate the service through an emergency call. Once the report is received, the PIS operational center conducts a professional assessment of the situation.
The assistance provided can vary depending on specific needs: from socio-emotional support to activating local networks, and even temporary placement in suitable facilities. At the end of the emergency intervention, the individual is referred to the appropriate social services or other necessary resources to ensure ongoing support.
With the implementation of the Social Emergency Intervention, Bardolino strengthens its social protection network and offers an additional tool to support citizens during critical moments.
