Riva del Garda will host the screening of the film “Sound of Freedom – Il canto della libertà” on Thursday, May 23 as part of the “Il piacere del cinema” film festival. The film is based on a true story and follows the journey of Tim Ballard, played by Jim Caviezel, a former federal agent who becomes a vigilante to fight human trafficking.
Ballard saves a child from the hands of traffickers in Latin America and discovers that the child’s sister is still a captive. He decides to leave his job and embark on an extremely dangerous mission in the Colombian jungle to free her and other children, putting his own life at risk.
Directed by Alejandro Monteverde, the film also stars Mira Sorvino, Bill Camp, Kurt Fuller, and José Zúñiga. It is a 2023 American production with a total duration of 135 minutes.
The screening will take place at the cinema hall of the Comunità di valle in via Rosmini 5 in Riva del Garda, starting at 9:00 PM. Tickets are available for 7 euros for adults and 5 euros for reduced admission (reserved for those over 65, children under 14, and students up to 25 years old). The ticket office will open half an hour before the start of the show.
This initiative is part of the intermunicipal film festival organized by the Comunità di valle Alto Garda e Ledro in collaboration with the municipalities of Arco, Drena, Ledro, Nago-Torbole, Riva del Garda, and Tenno. The artistic direction is curated by the Coordinamento teatrale trentino.
