The cultural event series dedicated to the enhancement of local traditions continues with the XII edition of Suoni e Sapori del Garda. This festival, taking place in Lonato del Garda, represents an important opportunity to explore the intersection of music and culinary culture within the context of the Garda Community.
The next event is scheduled for Sunday, November 24, at 5:00 PM in the Andrea Celesti Council Chamber of the Municipal Palace in Lonato del Garda. On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the concert titled “From Händel to Piazzolla, Passing Through Mozart and the Female Universe” will offer a program rich in emotion.
A Concert Full of Meaning
The event will feature pianist Silvia Sesenna and singers Paola Quagliata and Ilaria Italia. The concert aims to explore the female world through a musical selection that spans various historical periods. The compositions will range from the 17th to the 20th century, including works by composers such as Monteverdi, Purcell, Händel, and Pergolesi, culminating in the melodic pieces of Mozart.
The female figure will be at the center of the performance, represented in all its facets: wives, girlfriends, aristocratic ladies, and more humble figures. This musical showcase also aims to highlight the bold female characters in the operas of Gioachino Rossini, exemplified by Rosina from “The Barber of Seville,” symbols of women’s strength and determination.
The musical journey will culminate with the intense sounds of tango by Astor Piazzolla, where women take on the central role of the inspiring muse.
An Inclusive Festival
The Suoni e Sapori del Garda festival stands out for its accessibility: all performances are free of charge. The artistic direction is entrusted to Serafino Tedesi of the cultural association Infonote. The 2024 edition involves several municipalities in the area, including Calvagese della Riviera, Desenzano del Garda, Salò, and Riva del Garda.
The Garda Community plays a crucial role in coordinating cultural events in the area, thus contributing to the promotion of local traditions through initiatives aimed at strengthening the sense of community.
