As part of the “Spider and Cabriolet” expo, which will take place at the Centro Fiera del Garda in Montichiari from April 12th to 14th, the Historic Racing Club of Montichiari has organized two unmissable events for motor enthusiasts.
The first event is a conference titled “Once upon a time in Montichiari: Scuderia Gek Motors”, which will be held at 11:45 am on Saturday, April 13th, at Pavilion 5 Cremona. During this meeting, the history of the 1970s will be revisited, when the first Japanese motorcycles arrived in Italy and Verda responded with its 750. In Giuseppe Bertini’s workshop, known as Gek, the idea of forming a racing team, Scuderia Gek Motors, was born. Two drivers who were protagonists of that team, Professor Federico Varoli and Camillo Squassina, will be present to share this fantastic adventure.
The second event will take place on Sunday, April 14th, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, also at Pavilion 5 Cremona, and is dedicated to the origins and challenge of the Mille Miglia. During this conference, historians Fabrizio Rossi and Attilio Facconi will retrace the motivations behind the birth of this car race in 1927 and analyze the social conditions following the Great War that led passionate people from Brescia to come up with this brilliant idea. Documents, photographs, and videos will be projected to enrich the presentation.
Both events are part of the rich program of historical and cultural motor-related events that will be offered during the “Spider and Cabriolet” expo. For further information, please visit the website www.spidercabriolet.it/eventi/.
