Nicola Benedetti has been elected as the new president of the Canottieri Garda, succeeding Marco Maroni, who has led the association for the past eight years. An architect born in 1973 and previously the Director of the Canottieri Sports Center from 2016 to 2023, Benedetti played a key role in the structural renewal of the facility, which includes municipal swimming pools, gyms, and a large outdoor park of 15,000 square meters. In his statement, he expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and committed to upholding the traditions of the society as it approaches its 134th anniversary.
During the assembly, the members of the new board for the 2024-2028 term were also appointed: Cesare Zana will serve as vice president and head of the sailing section, while Fabio Rizzardini will continue as Sports Director. Other key roles include Daniele Pavan for rowing, Mattia Masperi for swimming, and Marco Maroni in the tennis section and as administrative manager. The “Mauro Melzani” harbor remains an important landmark for Canottieri Garda, contributing to its historical and cultural identity.
