The mixed crews of the Canottieri Garda Salò achieved outstanding results at the Eurocup 29er, held in Carnon, near Montpellier, from April 17 to 20. Giulia Bartolozzi and Pietro Rizzi secured first place among the mixed crews and third overall, while Emilia Salvatore and Pietro Zandri won the silver medal in the same category, finishing fifteenth overall. The competition featured 110 crews from 12 different countries, further solidifying the reputation of the athletes from Garda in the international sailing scene.
The racecourse, located in an area known for its steady winds, provided ideal conditions for sailing challenges. Coaches emphasized the importance of mental clarity during the races: “Sailing is a mind sport, and those who make fewer mistakes win,” stated Enrico Fonda. Despite some difficulties faced by Salvatore and Zandri on the final day, the results achieved bode well for the future of Italian sailing in light of upcoming international events.
