The Garda Karate Team recently participated successfully in the Austrian Junior Open 2024, one of the most prestigious youth karate competitions organized in Europe by the WKF. The event took place in Salzburg on June 21st and 22nd, attracting 95 teams from 18 different countries, with a total of 707 entries.
Six young athletes from the Garda Karate Team took part in the competition, competing in various categories:
– Venosta Fabio in the Under 14, +55 kg category
– Vigevani Isabella in the Under 14, -52 kg category
– Arici Luca in the Under 14, -50 kg category
– Favalli Leonardo in the Under 12, -38 kg category
– Forgioli Martina in the Under 12, -36 kg category
– Tonni Alessandro in the Under 10, -34 kg category
Before stepping onto the mat, the young athletes received final instructions and encouragement from coach Giovanni. With great concentration and determination, they faced high-level opponents.
The results achieved by the Garda Karate Team’s athletes were very satisfying:
– Second place for Vigevani Isabella and Forgioli Martina
– Third place for Venosta Fabio and Arici Luca
– Tonni Alessandro reached fifth place
– Favalli Leonardo did not advance past the elimination rounds
These results demonstrate the importance of consistency, commitment, and passion that the athletes put into their daily training. Coach Giovanni expressed pride in his athletes, stating, “The results achieved are proof that consistency, commitment, determination, and passion are worth all the sacrifices made…and that we are on the right path! There is still much to do and improve on, but it doesn’t scare us, it motivates us!”
