In recent days, the ranking for the fourth edition of the call for proposals “Environmental Education and Sustainability Initiatives” was published, promoted by the Lombardy Region in collaboration with the Lombardy Foundation for the Environment. This call has rewarded projects that stood out for their ability to engage a wide partnership, including numerous schools, and for the implementation of activities such as Citizen Science and outdoor education. Among the funded projects is one presented by the Municipality of Manerba, titled “The Young Guardians of the Planet. It Takes a Community to Grow a Tree,” which was selected as one of the top three projects in the province of Brescia.
A total of 62 applications were submitted, with 20 projects receiving funding ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 euros. Additionally, 14 projects were recognized as ‘Quality Projects for Environmental Education and Sustainability in Lombardy.’ The Regional Councilor for Environment and Climate, Giorgio Maione, emphasized the importance of education for sustainable development as a fundamental tool for addressing current environmental challenges. All awarded projects will be visible on the Lombardy Region’s Sustainable Development Portal, thereby contributing to the promotion of a culture of sustainability and environmental education in the area.
