The Municipality of Tremosine has issued an ordinance temporarily banning navigation, swimming, and any other activities on the stretch of lake in front of the rocky coastline near the Limone-Tremosine sewage treatment plant. This prohibition was introduced following the landslide event that occurred in the area last December.
The Coast Guard has shared the ordinance on its social channels to inform citizens and Lake Garda enthusiasts of the current restrictions. With the approaching summer season and the increase in private boats on the lake, it is important to respect these measures in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
It is important to note that in addition to the prohibition of vehicular traffic in the Tremosine Gorge, there is also this limitation on navigation in the area below the landslide. Therefore, anyone in this area must refrain from engaging in any water activities, such as water sports, fishing, or scuba diving.
The main objective of these measures is to prevent any accidents or dangerous situations related to the presence of the landslide. It is crucial to respect the provisions of the competent authorities in order to ensure one’s own safety and that of others.
