The first Luxury Tourism Summer School organized by the OTG (Observatory for Tourism on Lake Garda) will take place from June 16th to 20th at the Acquaviva Hotel in Desenzano del Garda. The initiative, created in collaboration with the Garda Community, has been a success, with all available spots already filled.
The course, titled Luxury Tourism: Branding, Communication, Sustainability, has been made possible thanks to the contribution of Terme di Sirmione and involves the participation of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, the Ugo da Como Foundation of Lonato, and Navigazione Lago di Garda. This Summer School aims to explore the economic, managerial, and entrepreneurial aspects related to luxury tourism.
During the four days of the course, the twenty participants will have the opportunity to attend lectures given by professors from Italian and foreign universities, as well as industry professionals. In addition, excursions, meetings, and moments of relaxation will be organized to facilitate networking and specialization in the field of tourism economics.
The topics covered during the Summer School will include the historical, economic, and anthropological analysis of Luxury Tourism, corporate communication and dynamics of social sectors, the international approach to the enhancement of territorial heritage, and the importance of linguistic and historical skills as tools for bridging different tourism cultures worldwide. Territorial policies aimed at the development of tourism from a territorial perspective will also be addressed.
Giovanni Gregorini, Professor of Economic History and Director of the Department of Historical and Philological Sciences at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, as well as Director of the OTG, stated that the proposal for the Summer School has been very successful and that all available spots were quickly filled. Despite the pending requests, they hope to soon offer new training opportunities through the Observatory in collaboration with institutional bodies and local businesses.
The Luxury Tourism Summer School therefore represents an important opportunity for growth and specialization in the tourism sector, focusing on the study of dynamics related to luxury tourism and offering a high-level educational experience.
