The city of Salò is preparing to host the second edition of the “Great Salodiani Musicians” festival, a series of musical events curated by Maestro Federico Franchini. The first event is scheduled for Friday, June 21 at 9 pm in the Sala dei Provveditori, with a concert dedicated to Marco Enrico Bossi, a famous Italian composer and organist.
Marco Enrico Bossi: A Pioneer of Italian Music
Marco Enrico Bossi (1861-1925) is recognized as one of the greatest figures in Italian music between the 19th and 20th centuries. Pianist Fabio Mancini will have the honor of inaugurating the festival with a tribute to this illustrious musician, who significantly contributed to the Italian production of concert and chamber music in an era dominated by opera. Bossi was also instrumental in promoting the organ as a concert instrument in addition to its liturgical use.
Upcoming Events of the Festival
On Friday, July 19, the second event will take place at 9 pm in the cloister of MuSa. This concert will be dedicated to composers Buono Chiodi and Ferdinando Bertoni and will feature the extraordinary participation of soprano Arabella Cortese.
