The La Strada Festival, an important event dedicated to contemporary circus, dance, and urban theater, continues its journey into September. Organized by the Circuito CLAPS, the festival takes place in the heart of Brescia, transforming its streets and squares into an open-air stage for international artists.
A Long-standing Project
Since 2008, the La Strada Festival has turned Brescia into a showcase for cultural events that attract talents from around the world. The festival not only celebrates the architectural beauty of the city but also offers a range of high-level artistic performances. In addition to the main event, the Circuito CLAPS has launched other initiatives, including “La Strada e dintorni”, which brings performances to various municipalities in Lombardy during the summer, and “La Strada Winter”, the winter edition of the festival.
2024 Edition: Dates and Locations
The XVII edition of the festival will take place from August 27 to September 15, 2024, engaging public spaces in Brescia with a series of events dedicated to contemporary circus. Artists from across Europe will perform in acts that promise exciting and surprising moments for all attendees.
September Program
Main Performances
After a brief summer break, the festival resumes with significant events:
- September 12-13: [THE FRAME] by Eléctrico 28 (Catalonia/Spain), with two performances at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM in front of the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine. This performance invites the audience to observe everyday life through the eyes of its protagonists.
- September 14-15: MDR – MORTO DAL RIDERE by Los Galindos (Catalonia/Spain), at 8:30 PM in front of Cinema Eden. This hilarious show addresses themes of justice through the humor of its clown protagonists.
Side Activities
From September 13 to 15, LA DINAMICA DEL CONTROVENTO by Teatro Necessario (Italy/France) will be presented in Piazza Rovetta. This is an interactive installation that combines live music with a unique visual experience.
Additionally, from September 8 to 11, workshops led by Centopercento Lab will take place at Contrada del Carmine. These workshops provide families and children with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of circus arts.
