On Thursday, April 11th, the film “La sala professori” will be screened at the cinema hall of the Valley Community in Via Rosmini 5 in Riva del Garda. The film, nominated for the 2024 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, tells the story of Carla Nowak, a young math and physical education teacher who embarks on her first job with passion and idealism. However, when thefts begin to occur at the school, Carla decides to secretly investigate to uncover the truth. Using her computer’s camera and a wallet as bait, she manages to record someone’s arm committing one of the thefts. She discovers that it is the mother of one of her students, putting the young teacher in crisis and triggering a series of negative consequences.
The film is directed by Ilker Çatak and stars Leonie Benesch, Leonard Stettnisch, Michael Klammer, and Rafael Stachowiak. It is a German drama from 2023 with a runtime of 98 minutes.
The screening is scheduled to start at 9 pm, and ticket prices are 7 euros for adults and 5 euros for reduced (over 65, under 14, students up to 25). The ticket office will open half an hour before the screening begins.
The inter-municipal film festival is organized by the Alto Garda and Ledro Valley Community together with the municipalities of Arco, Drena, Ledro, Nago-Torbole, Riva del Garda, and Tenno. The artistic direction is curated by the Trentino Theater Coordination.
