Two thieves were arrested by the Carabinieri yesterday afternoon, February 18, 2025, in Bussolengo, after attempting to steal alcoholic beverages from the Conad store in the “Porte dell’Adige” shopping center. Thanks to a report from the security personnel, who monitored the situation via the surveillance system, the officers intervened promptly while the two women and a man were trying to leave without paying for five bottles of alcohol worth a total of 163 euros.
The three individuals, already known to law enforcement, were identified as a 35-year-old and a 22-year-old Italian woman, and a 40-year-old man originally from Sri Lanka. After verification at the police station, they were held in custody awaiting instructions from the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Verona. This morning, the judge confirmed the arrest: the younger woman was placed under house arrest, while the other two received a ban on residing in the province. The hearing has been postponed to April 2025.
