A burglary has shaken the Filatoio neighborhood in Lonato, where a resident witnessed the thieves fleeing after breaking into her home the day before yesterday, January 24. The elderly woman, while returning to her garage in her car, was approached by an accomplice who acted as a lookout, distracting her with a request for information and allowing the thieves to escape. Despite the lady calling for help from a neighbor, the criminals were already far away; it is estimated that there were three of them.
At the end of the intrusion, the woman discovered that a window had been forced open and the safe had been opened with an oxyacetylene torch, leaving it completely emptied. The house showed clear signs of disorder, with drawers opened and rummaged through in search of additional valuables. The growing concern among residents of the neighborhood is palpable, as several similar burglaries have been reported recently in the area. The carabinieri of Lonato are currently investigating the incident to ensure greater safety for the local community.
